Theatrical Therapy Project ℠

The Theatrical Therapy Program is designed to work with school-aged children experiencing various forms of trauma creating avenues through artistic mentoring and expression toward positive behavioral modification. This program offers alternative solutions in coping with the effects of topics such as abandonment, change, conflict, rejection, and the like. Participants safely explore their feelings and outcomes, their behavioral patterns transform while participants enjoy the experience of active change discovered through the expresses art forms of music, drama, and dance. These efforts aid them in overcoming and/or managing personal or social experiences more effectively. Counselors, teachers, family, and friends are invited to join their students for a family-friendly setting as students present samples of their collective “work” in an original stage production.

Creative Grief Counseling ℠

With certification from Roberta’s House, we mix creativity with grief counseling to bring healing to the hearts of those grieving various losses, including disenfranchised loss.

Annual Financial Family Forum ℠

In 2020, AEC acquired a partnership with Prince Georges Community College Financial Empowerment Centers to present the first Financial Family ForumSM, a resource day filled with financial literacy activities and workshops for all ages.

 

This Forum grants community members of all ages an opportunity to learn how to manage their money and make better financial decisions to positively impact their futures. It consists of opening and closing discussions and breakout sessions categorized according to subject and age group. Topics include why money management is important, how to reduce debt, how to save to buy a home, how to manage school loans, obtaining scholarships and grants, managing money as an entrepreneur, managing finances for retirement and more.

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is nationally recognized for college and career-readiness programs that provide students with unique learning opportunities, including dual enrollment and language immersion.

Roberta’s House: A Family Grief Support Center is a safe place where children, teens and adults discover that they are not alone in their grief. Children with their families share their feelings, memories and experiences in an atmosphere of acceptance with the love and support of trained volunteers.
